Her Story: Ja’Dayia Kursh

On May 5th 2017, Ja’Dayia Kursh was crowned Miss Rodeo Coal Hill Arkansas. Making her the First Black woman to be crowned a Rodeo Queen in the state of Arkansas. Kursh has wanted to be a cowgirl ever since she was a little girl. “I fell in love with horses when I was six years old and it just kind of stuck with me.”

While she loves being part of the western industry, Kursh has had to deal with racial bias throughout her career. She believes that these challenges have only made her stronger.

Now she has her eyes set on Miss Rodeo America. Today we celebrate Ja’Dayia Kursh. She Made History and her story inspires little girls like herself to chase their dreams.

“Never allow someone else to mute you.”
