American actress, human rights advocate, comedian, author, and television host, Whoopi Goldberg, is a Triple Crown Actor. She has been nominated for 13 Emmy Awards and is one of the few entertainers to have won an Emmy Award, a Grammy Award, an Oscar, and a Tony Award. She is the first woman ever to be honored with the prestigious Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. She was the second black woman in the history of the Academy Awards to win an Oscar for acting.
Goldberg struggled terribly in school and was considered unintelligent by the school authorities. She was diagnosed with dyslexia later in life and discovered her genius in acting and humor. Her mother always believed in her and told her that she could be anything she wanted in life.
