Stacey Abrams is a politician, lawyer, activist, and a political game changer. She served in Georgia’s house of Representatives for many years and became the first Black female major-party gubernatorial nominee in the United States in 2018.
Abrams lost the election for governor of Georgia due to voter suppression in the Black community. Her response was to found @FairFightAction and @FairCount to address voter rights. As a result of her efforts she helped register 800,000 new voters in the state of Georgia over the past two years.
Stacey Abrams took her loss and used it as a platform to create change. Her ability to pivot and focus on solutions shows her enormous capacity to lead. Abrams was able catapult other people into positions of mobility and change the political game in Georgia and the United States. Women like Stacy Abrams, and so many others, are making the future better by doing the work necessary for forward movement.
Among her many awards and accolades, Abrams has been nominated for the Noble Peace Prize. In 2021 she received the Social Justice Impact Award from the NAACP. #SheMadeHistory and our nation thanks you Stacey Abrams.
