Her Story: Claressa Shields

Claressa Shields made history as the 1st American woman to win gold in boxing. She became the first American boxer (male or female) ever to win gold metals in back-to-back Olympic games.

Shields (born March 17, 1995) is an American boxer and mixed martial artist. Shields is one of only eight boxers in history, female or male, to hold all four major world boxing titles simultaneously, the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO.

This year Claressa Shields knocked out barriers as the first fighter, man or woman, to win undisputed championships in two weight classes. She made history!
